Step 8 — Your first 30 days

You got the job. The goal now is not to impress anyone — it's to become someone people trust with the next thing.

Week one: shut up and map

Write down every system, every name, every acronym you don't know. Ask the dumb question in week one, when it's free. In month three it costs you.

Ship something small, early

Not the redesign. The tiny irritating thing everyone complains about and nobody owns. Fix that in your first fortnight and you buy credibility for the big thing later.

Draw the real org chart

There's the one on the wiki, and there's the one where three people actually decide things. Find the second one. Be useful to it.

And then?

That's the route. If it saved you a month of flailing, it did its job. If you hit a step I got wrong — and there will be one — tell me, and I'll fix it here.

Cut the chaos. Keep the part that survived the edit.
